I spent many times coming in from the pubs on a saturday night watching his late night slot. I have to say I really enjoyed watching his show which of course put into perspective that we are but on a lonley rock hurtling through space at thousands of miles an hour.

Rest in peace good man.

I heard he was ill last week and thought this might be coming. It's an end of an era, but I suppose we can't be too sad at the loss of an 89 year old who spent his life living his passion.

Xylophonist, pianist, actor, cricketer, philanthropist, patron, monacle wearer and amateur astronomer.
