I'm sure it's not ideal, but I know that if my son or daughter is lying there with limbs shot off, or blown away, I'd be grateful to that pig for furthering the surgeons skills. Pigs are used as they are the closest to human flesh to work with, and live flesh reacts differently to dead flesh.

I really don't see a problem, how many tonnes of pork do we eat in the uk every day? I'll bet its a lot. The advances in medica trauma technology that have cone through since the war in afganistan have been significant and are now being used in A&E depts up and down the country. ( a friend and neighbour of ours is a doctor in the marines )

 

Something good coming out of something bad.....

Wounder if they then test the effects of napalm after the pig has gone so they can get just the right amount of crispness on the crackling.?

 

No,thats just silly.

 

The crackling effect comes from the Aviation Fuel that burns the pigs after the Helicopter they are flying is shot down in a Surface to Air Missile test.
