Thought of making one though, although for a front end loader rather than a crane.

 

You could attach a few plastic hay rakes to a bit of wood with a few lawn rakes attached to it. make a grab bar and it should work cheaply. If it workes weld one up.

 

Be good for clearing up after big felling jobs.

They look like they'd be great, seen them on small excavators for landscaping. Have seen brash grabs that fit onto your log grab, look fairly simple but effective.

Removable clam shell buckets are good, I had a brash grab on my ducker shredder it was ok, but unless you are lifting off the rd it's not hard to do some turf lifting!!

Not for a grab but I made a pair years ago to drag behind a quadbike when I was hedgelaying.... Still have them somewhere I think...

I have one to fit my digger grab. Used a six foot length of C section, few extra bits of angle iron welded on in the right places to give the grab a good purchase without being able to slip off, and then used narrow Haybob tines bolted to the underside with studding welded on behind them to stop them from being able to twist.

 

Easy and very effective.

simples! just use some brash in the grab,a witches broom springs to mind.

Tried that on a job clearing sycamore no good more bits than when I started.
