I have a mate working or contracting for Davey tree in Canada. Reckons that they were sending crew from 4000 miles away in advance of the storm. Same with Asplundh. I doubt there'd be a huge call for UK climbers though I believe there are already a heap of jobs being advertised over there anyway. I also believe Davey tree is actively looking for international climbers but I could be wrong. A quick Google search brings up heaps of jobs right across the country at all sorts of levels. I was keen myslef but the mortgage kinda puts the dampners on it.

looking at the devastation, is there a calling for UK tree surgeons?

Just a thought for the future.

In every crisis there's an opportunity right?

I've been watching these home video's of trees falling after the event -- Amazing and frightening.

The shot of the Davey Co. convoy lining up ready to roll was pretty impressive.

Some work ahead there, for sure.

I reckon anyone qualified who fancies it and who has a bit of nouse could be over there cutting pretty sharpish.

National Emergency must trump standard work visa, surely?
