Can't you just put a log burner outside the fireplace, that's what I did with mine I lined the chimney put a t piece with soot trap and put it to the back of the burner and then you get a lot of heat off the burner and it's handy for a kettle etc.

Aslong as you have the required minimum of 225mm of hearth in front and 150mm each side you are fine. Just beware of combustible fire surrounds and the combustible clearance required for the stove to be installed.

We fitted a Morso insert stove as we have a narrow room in a modern house. You save a lot of space as you don't have to have the gap at the back. Also looks modern which works in our house. Cost more to fit however and the plaster around the top is cracking.

Should really be screeded not plastered for that reason. The only drawback with the Morso (and I am a Morso dealer) is the need to install with a liner. Nice neat stove.

This went into a standard fireplace. Open it up.

Combustible clearance to the beam looks a bit tight, perhaps its an optical illusion or the heat coming off the top is not what it is with others. Might just want to check that.

Is it a standard distance or variable from stove to stove?
