Very nice result but the sort of job I dread - a death by a thousand cuts. A lot of climbing and a thousand tiny cuts to remove a lot of small frithy regrowth, for what I always imagine to the layman looks exactly the same as before.

It would of never fitted through the gap we had through the other tress plus the back limbs were so over extended they could broken off and fallen in the tops of other trees which would have created more work the limb that was grown round the sycmore stem had some real weight in it cutting the tree out from under it without taking any end weight off the limb would of been silly the wind and lack of decent escape route and a few tasty window makers in the top of the pop made for a not very enjoyable experience felling it

Understood, I hate having to put the harness back on to repair stuff broken after a fell.

 

Especially when you think you’ve put it away for the day.

Storm damage from last week, leylandii willow and a Corsican pine within striking distance of the house so took 15 ft or so off the top

Second day of a three day job, loads of fir, nothing enormous but tall enough.

 

Bit of felling, bit of climbing, bit of hydraulics. Chip gets blown onto the ground and spread round the woodland paths, timber lorry takes the wood.
Just wish the rain would take a holiday!

Mick, I presume that is your new Multione? Do they call that attachment the log grab or grapple?
