Thanks man! I've not used it's predecessor so can't really comment, but I will say that this saw was a dream to use. Loads of power and super smooth through the cut, really munches it's way through happily. Pulls it's way through without needing to push into the timber.  Seemed very fuel efficient too. Rate it way above the Stihl 362 that I've used a few times previously

what's the felling season in the UK.

Here in Germany it stops in march and begins in October again.

How long did they take you to knock out?

One befor lunch one after I was leaving buy 3.30 had lunch at 11.30 started at 9am

What do you use on your strop for pines?  I usually use a hitch but that bungs up quickly.  Are Ropegrabs  etc any good?
 

I use a vt on my steel core flip line never been keen on rope grabs i don't like how they adjust when my weight is on the strop

A vt is nice and smooth on a steel core.  I never liked grand either.  Only nice thing about grabs is no sit back
