...... Clearly if you've never done drop crouching.. Reducing the declining upper crown and shortening some lower limbs. Retaining a tree in this case is a better option than removal.

 

Drop crotching isn't used very often but it had its place.

I've carried out Drop Crouching ony two times in 12 years, one on an ash and one on a sycamore. Happy to say both trees are still alive and adding lots of amenity value to the area :-)

Nice to see someone trying to retain a tree in decline rather than going for the cash of a removal.

Anyway. Something a little different again as part of the company I work for we give 12 days a year to free community projects. Sometimes it's delivering materials or supplying man power. Today we delivered a gruffalo that was commissioned for a local nursery school.

 

I had to read 25 children the story and I'll add cutting and climbing trees is a lot easier and less stressful.
