Helping a mate out on one of his jobs today.
Removing three 25m conifers, two Corsican pine and a Douglas fir, no rigging, just stripped and topped for felling, customer added an additional small Larch to the spec.

Masses of chipping, ran 15 cubic metres worth off to a Chateau just up the road.

Felled the Douglas between the posts and called it a day as it was still 34 degrees in the shade.

Cherry down today, no before sorry, job as subbie.

They are gonna get the lot chipped.  Was near a couple of phone lines so a little interest to the job, as well as jack all in the way of tie ins.

Another day and another sticky Fat Pine.

Drop and leave, home owner is going to clear up.  Yeah good luck with that.

Speed lined a few of the back and side limbs off that were over the uninsulated cables.

Two or three logs dropped and then fell the stick over with the 661.

‘You know how I said I’d clear it all up and save €300 off the price….? well I’ve changed my mind’

’you see, it doesn’t work that way I’m afraid…..bye’

Our thoughts exactly but he seemed to think he was the man for the job.

A pensioner as well.

Good luck to him, he will need it.

My mate also took down 4 other pine’s and a twin stemmed birch for the old boy to clear.

This depends on your viewpoint I think. Some pensioners are keen do have a big job like clearing up arisings to go at. It gives them a purpose in life that might otherwise be lacking. If you've got the whole summer to get it sorted, just doing a little each day, it's gonna be much more appealing than being faced with the challenge of getting it finished before the end of the working day.

Another one for client psychology.

He will need a big saw though.

i flopped the barrel of the stem with a 661.

Nah. Do that with a 230. It'll just take longer. What is it? 30"?
