Gawd knows how much, property sure is cheap here, and the désertification of rural France (by which I mean the population is leaving for the towns) means it’s not getting any more expensive.

 

Doing them up is pricey however, which is where a lot of plans go awry.

Been walking around 10 acres of Woodland looking at storm damaged trees but came across this bad boy. Shame it’s not summer but I never come across Black Poplars and was in awe of this specimen.

Some recent ones.

Decent sized ash stump to grind, that the guys took down a few weeks back "found" 4 rugby ball sized rocks in the stump.

2 pops to get on the deck ASAP before too much commotion/press turned up

One or 2 avenue trees to prune

Finished this off today to keep the dags in and boar out.  150m of 1.5m stock fencing, chestnut posts, x3 larch 5-bar gates on oak 9x9 posts.  Sandstone bedrock under the 2-10" of topsoil
