During last weeks visit to Bandit Laval, I was informed of a European requirement for chippers infeeds higher than 60cm to have a stop bar.

 

I hope I understood that right.

Requires a bottom stop bar if it's over 600mm above ground level yes.

That's how I understood it, i didn't realise a standard 1928 would qualify, years ago I had a 70 odd hp tracked arbor eater with just a top bar, it was a dream to use in comparison to modern machines.

In the U.S. They only have top bars apparently.

Large Sycamore RJ today.

 

Lovely day for it. Tree was being reduced due to a number of large cavities in the stems. Lots of previous work done to the tree. Cabling between the stems and took quite a bit of damage in the 87 storm. We reduced the tree by about 2-3 metres on top and brought the sides in to suit.

 

2 climbers made it a like a nice day and done and dusted by 2pm.
