Makita saws

Weve been selling orange machines for a few years,and are getting a bit fed up with there couldnt give a toss attitude towards dealers and customers,Whats your opinion on the makita range of saws?weve had some demo machines and they seem well built,Any feedback good or bad much appreciated,thanks

just started to run a Makita DCS9010,can say that it is a great saw for the money,far cheaper than an MS660,but for as often as I will use it,could not justify spending the extra to go orange.

I have the DCS7901 and it's a cracking saw. Best 70-80cc saw I've used bar none. I also used to have the tiny little tophandle (the DCS230T) and that was excellent too. It's incredibly light (2.5kg) and for small branch pruning much better than the Stihl 200T. Tank of fuel seems to last 2-3 times as long too.

They get good feedback from those that have them,I'm keen on echo products myself,but I supose its all about spares backup in the short & long term that concerns a lot of prospective users.

my first saw was a makita and it was great for its size - cant remember which one it was but seem to remember it was equal to a dolmar 100 or something like that.

 

did years and needed very lil. so i would say good kit

My first saw was Makita 340. Great little saw for what it cost. I sold it on when we got bigger kit but it's still running well in the hands of it's new owner.

I would have nothing but Makitas (with the exception of two sparkling echos) if they were orange and labelled Dolmar like they should be...

I was seriously considering buying a petrol Makita saw but the parts availability (or lack of) put me off.

 

In contrast, I have an electric Makita and every part seems to be readily available from normal Makita power tool service centres.
