This is uncannily the very same process I went through last year. Lovely fella; work dropped off a day a week - he hit the drink - buggered up the other days and became a nightmare; I did beyond what an "employer" would do to try and help; drove him around, paid him extra or ahead when he'd pi55ed his wage up the wall... atleast I tried. Strange thing was, his family and friends all blame me for causing his problems! I gave the fella a damn good chance imo! And re drugs; I've met a few who are absolutely convinved it improves their performance!!!

 

I've worked with a few like that. Swore blind they worked faster and harder. All I ever wanted to do was eat never ending tubes of Pringles and choccy biccies and veg in front if the tv watching something that didn't involve remembering the plot.

"Dangerous driving" and "drink driving" are the only criminal motoring offences, all the others are "misdemeanours"

 

Would I employ some one who had a motoring offence?? of course I would, would I employ a drug user?? NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet ( and yes, I know it's legal) we still glorify drinking to excess. Just because it is legal doesn't make it any better than some drug use. A recent report from some scientific outfit or other stated that if drugs were re categorised to include tobacco and alcohol with 1 being the most dangerous, they would be rated and number 1 and 3 respectively. I suppose the argument is null and void while they are still legal.
