Hi Guys... as the UK importer for Pfanner and Protos, we can update you on the helmet.

Delivery date has still to be confirmed to us by Protos and as soon as we get the dates, we'll let everyone know :)

Life span for Protos is 5 years.

Active Ventilation: Protos offers superior ventilation via the all round ventilation design. Air can flow in from all sides and escape through the ventilation channels on top. The ventilation channels on the top can be closed or opened with a simple action. There are also wide areas of ventilation between the head band and the helmet at the front and back.

Please take a look at the Protos website...it shows Protos off in all it's glory...

Protos integral - first helmet with integrated safety visor - Protos

Samples of Protos can currently be seen in the following stores:

Honey Bros

Gustharts

F R Jones and Son

Treeworker

Clark Forest

Prices: Protos Integral Arborist = £183 (zero VAT) Protos Integral Forest = £165 (zero VAT).

Here's some pics to whet your appetites!!......

vents......totally agree Drew, no big vents like the vented ecrin roc or vertex, as someone's already said, the vents on the Vertex can be set open or closed depending on the weather, this a basic principle for helmets required by folk working in rigorous outdoor work, especially climbers. I suspect if they dont sort that issue out it wont sell, and if people buy it, they be cursing the heat created by the lack of vents.
