Not a good day!

Got rear access to the job all organised by the customer (landlord) and got to work, only to notice a while later a lady waving a brolley at me... Anyway she didnt get told about the work and came back after work to this!

 

To say i ruined her day would be a massive understatement! Its not often you see people so distraught as she was...

 

Anyone had similar, really felt bad for her and made me feel pretty shabby!

Do you mean the tenant hadn't been informed about the work at all?

 

I would have been upset as well, that is a shocking reduction.

So if I understand it correctly, you were working for the landlord and the lady was the tenant?

I can understand her distress if the landlord didnt inform the tenant.

 

I do fairly regular work for landlords, one thing you learn quickly is not to rely on them to keep the tenants informed. I have always taken contact details for the tenant and contacted them directly ahead of the start date, I feel this is only fair since it may be a rented house, but its the tenants home and therefore their private space you will be working within.

 

You learn, you improve, don't beat ya'self up over it.

I've had to deal with a an elderly lady near tears due to a workmate taking to much off her beloved rhododendron, it does make you feel awful

This has happened to me with Landlords. I've learnt not to trust them.

 

By the way, I think that's a great reduction as it still looks good from the neighbour's side so they won't be upset:lol::lol:

I was only subbing so not really my problem, but being the ***** in her tree (she'd lived there for 15years) I got the earfull! The rest where on the otherside of the fence!
