I wish people would stop moaning about their lot all the time, "I'm being undercut" or

"cowboys stealing my work" jeez times are tough so man up. go and do some utility work or stack some shelves or pick rubbish from a landfill in Rio.

Isn't the whole point of a forum so you can have a good ol moan with like minds people?? If you don't like the thread you don't have to read it. There are alot of us on here finding it hard at the moment and it's nice to know we're not alone in our struggles:;)

Struggle?

Life is a struggle at times, for everyone! Its not hard all the time.

If you are moaning that works a struggle then you are doing alright, it could be worse.

I think if some people would take a minute to stop and think abouut what they have got rather than what they havnt got, they might realise they have more than what they need and a change of attitude would make them feel better.

Fair enough we all get a down now and then, its the norm.

But me personally am happy that I have got a job, i am able bodied and can work, i have a roof over my head and can look after my family and hope they and I keep in good health.

Looking after yourself, family and freinds is what matters. Oh and Holidays!

Unfortunatey some of us will have things happen in our lives which will make us realise exactly what is important in life and its certainly not money- although it sure is useful.

Enjoy your life, its not forever

Why do we do it?? .......................Because we have it to do.

For some small outfits, it's make or break time though. Sure, it's not death but the heartbreak of losing ones business and livelihood and all that entails; enough said. One larger co can destroy a smaller one by not paying a contract bill as I've had this year; even domestic jobs are slow to pay; cashflow is king and the struggle leads to insomnia, poor health and a whole viscious circle. There are those whole value your business; you don't want to let them down. You don't want to let your Wife and children down, forclose on the mortgage, face homelessness. You can't afford to invest because hmrc won't answer the 'phone and sort the money they owe you either. 2012 has been annus horribilis for sure.

Agree with you.

it ain't that bad.

average day rate i reckon is around 300 to 400 profit.

So most of us prob make more in 3 days than the average working man does in a month...and when we are working...its all fun , games and fresh air.

tree work is an undervalued industry and at the same time tree workers overvalue them selfs.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Which solar system are you navigating?

WTF, that's ridiculous.

If you run a business with truck, chipper and 1 groundsman ( which a lot of guys do ) then you should be earning at least!! 300 - 400 a day after expensies per day.

Otherwise you are just digging yourself into a big whole..and will never have business growth.

My mother has been on 800 a month for years working full-time...i earn that usually in 2 days...sometime 1 day.

When i go out and do jobs worth £100 quid now and then by myself i don't complain..because i know there is someone out there struggling much more than myself.
