dishwasher eco program.........

Right

 

This may seem an odd question for this forum, but i'm sure somebody will be able to give me an answer!

 

Why is it the 'eco' program on our smeg dishwasher is about hour and an half longer than any other program on it??? It still washes at 70degree's like the other full wash programs. How does that make it eco?:confused1:

It goes like this......

 

a home appliance manufacturer gets backhanders from one or all of the big power companies and subsidies from the government in which they operate, in return the manufacturer adds word's like 'eco cycle' to their machines in order to appease the governments who want to be seen to be promoting 'a greener society', the power companies also win because the end user (you) has been duped into believing your using less power when in actual fact your using the same or more power than the regular cycles/options on the machine.

 

They know people are trying to do their bit for the planet and the shamelessly exploit it.
