Knackered Tractor

Just found out my tractors knackered. The Block has a 4" crack in it:( the tractor is an IMT, copy of a massy 135.

Just gotta weigh up what to do, the mechanic says we could do a temp fix with epoxy resin this would be cheap but no guarantee how long it will last, next is the option of a second hand block if we can get one to fit, it would then also need piston liners and etc and work doing to the head. Ideally I would get another tractor, a 4wd with loader.

Ohh well, keep calm and carry on:)

To weld it they will have to strip it and heat it glowing red to get a decent weld.

However welding will not hold for long and it will eventually return if not on the weld then around it. Unless you get it welded then sell it on quick to let someone else have the problem.

Best to go for another block or engine. If its the 135 copy would a mf135 engine not fit?

I have been told by a mf mechanic that it may fit but wouldn't know until it's stripped, I would not repair and sell on as that's dishonest and I wouldn't like that done to me.
