Been using a Jonsered cs2171 for six months now, bought it from Central Spares for about £540 inc vat, 20 inch bar.....its been very good so far, good power through the timber. No maintenance issues and feels very solid. Same engine/carb as the 372xp according to the sawheads at Arboristsite.

Timber cutter I spent a fair amount of time cutting buttresses off of sitkas. Cant fault my 361 for this. learnt a few things on the way. 1 File your top plate angle to around 15-20 degrees. Or 2 Dont bother cutting the buttresses off, its easier when the trees on the deck as only one cut per buttress is required, and if the trees are to be felled by the harvester the newly shaped tree fouls the saw box and prevents the head sitting low enough on the tree. Get the harvester operator to learn how to double or triple cut the trees.

I like the old Stihl Vs Husky debates!

I have always used Stihl and recently got a brand new Husq. 357 XPG and my mate got one too. Both brand new and *!%$ked within a year!!!! One of them seized and the other one piston damaged beyond repair and no compression. Dealers blamed both instances on using Stihl oil instead of Husqvarna oil. Which i personally think is total bull £$%^!!! They said it would cost £400 to repair each one. I told em to stick it and went and bought 3 new Stihl MS341's. Husqvarna - Never again!
