We know where road tax goes, it goes to repairing the roads we as road users wear out (supposedly).

Where does the £50 a year go you pay for a Waste carriers license.

Yeah supposedly to repair the roads.

The £50 I imagine goes towards the policing and administration as does your road tax cost.

there has to be some laws and license's or imagine the amount of extra fly tipping that would go on, which you well and truly know about.

This intrigues me, please explain how the piece of paper prevents ANY fly tipping :confused1: I really don't get it ??????:confused1:

But I don't carry waste any way so not my problem, I suppose.

Could it not be possible that some of the revenue goes to policing this to try and catch unlicensed carriers so preventing or trying to prevent illegal tipping

No disrespect Logger but this was the comment I was expecting.

People (rightly) believe it goes to policing flytipping, but as Skyhuck pointed out, why should we (business) pay for a problem which is not of our doing. Most flytip is household so should be paid for by everyone, we all own /rent houses :001_smile:

I didnt say a piece of paper would stop fly tipping.

If no one could get prosecuted for fly tipping then more people would do it (remember these idiots have no morals) For people to get prosecuted there have to be laws and regulations in place, so you need someone to enforce them and they need paying which is why they have license's so they can get revenue.

If someone fly tips in your yard you can call the eva and they can go and prosecute them.

I get fly tipping every week nearly, but yet "I" have to clear it up, or pay to have it cleared up because it's on my land :confused1:

Surely it is not my fault that flytipping has taken place, especailly as I might have gone to extreme lengths to stop it by getting myself a carriers license.

More police is whats needed, I watched the council boys once clearing it up, they didn't even root thru it to see if they could establish where it came from. I laways spend time having a look thru to see if there's an address.

I have found two addresses before now and have made them come and clear it up.

I now get the tractor out, scoop up all the flytip and push it out onto the muck road outside my land, that way it's the councils responsibilty to clear it up which it should be anyway.

Two years ago, we organised a team of 20 men, we went into the country side and cleaned up around 15 ton of flytip, we went to the council yard with it explaining what we had done and they said we would have to pay to tip.

They soon changed their minds when we said 20 men had given up their weekends to do this and the papers would love a story like this

Well it sounds like I'm backing the decision that a waste license is a good idea which i dont think it is and since I'm not an expert in this matter and since I dont care and it wont bother me I think ill give this argument a miss. :001_smile:

Theres loads of things in life I pay for that imo i think are wrong. TV license, road tax (it should just be on fuel) paying for rain fall from public highways and footpaths(domestic customers dont have to pay this business's do!) etc
