how likely are they to hire somone with with cs30,31,38,39 but somone whos never used lowering equipment except as a groundy. never used a MEWP. but does have experience taking out reasonably large trees in africa?

Its probably as safe as anywhere a bit risky now, wouldn't rely on the firms secuiry/bodyguards tho, theres some exellent guys/firms doing it, but theres also a lot of firms working the circuit that'll take anybody with a service number......

 

If it was a bit later in the year id be tempted!

I agree I wouldnt rely on security firms and there is a risk but life is full of them even though this may just be a little riskier than normal.

 

I would also agree with minotaur about doing your homework and getting as much info as possible but anyone looking for a great experience then go for it! :thumbup:

Sounds like it will be on a gated compound, prob quite safe. I'd take my kit and team out there for the right money to do the whole contract, wouldn't go as a subby though.

If I was free and single then I would go for that, £171-£190 plus expenses is ok, but as it is I can make more here, and get to see my family every day.

thats rubbish money ,my best mate works there has been for a while now ,he is just a ground worker and get alot more than that ,the place is shocking to, curupt to say the least ,and guns every where ,he sees death on a daily bassis to
