This morning was unique and became a little too unorthodox. I was contracted by a fellow to climb for a small crane removal of a cherry. Here he is set up to 'pull the second half over' after we picked the upright portion out in five pieces. It was an old 18 ton crane, and poorly maintained at that. I left before it got crazier. I suggested he hire a crane if he wants me to climb for the removal of the dead oak in the background.

if there's a phone line in the way chuck a rope over it and pull it away or towards the tree and tie it off, usually there is enough give to make life much easier one way or other.

yeah phone lines have loadsa give in them, can usually move them a good few feet doing this.

Prune off a vertical branch. When you finish with a horizontal cut to remove the stub, keep both hands on the saw and drop the revs at the end of the cut so the stub stays stood up on the bar. Flick it over your shoulder into the nearest bin.

I'd like to see the video. Very Ninja. Most of the time I would imagine the wood would spin off on the pull or push chain. But i don't have black pyjamas.
