havent seen this thread before, i have already downsized my chipper, and plan on re aranging kit so i can make more use out of the branches. i even talked about some kind of gizmo like this would be great on the back of the mog and the chipper on the front

fuelwood have the kindlet machine which is great as a niche machine however the investment required is a damn site worse than an axe

 

A neat idea if only the net result has a volume demand , not sure personally

however I wish you every success.

 

Make one that will take in whole pallets & then you have a mass source of material that will sell to every skip company in the uk

We have been considering the commercial viability of a pallet processor but are struggling to get the sums to work at the moment. See Pallet Shredding Machinery Video Demonstration

 

As for Mr Eds machine - we have previously floated the idea of a using a simple conversion of a set of hydraulic "Jaws of Life" to strip and crop material down to 1". Mr Eds is a far simpler solution to the same problem. The only draw back I can see would be the product length for open fires and wood burners. For wood boilers, the end product would be very attractive if priced right.

i sold my ducker shredder to the local skip guy, he loves it. he used to smash them up with a digger, the haulage was killing him, now he can fit 4 times the amount into his big bins. and he can put doors and most waste wood in it too.

In a nutshell, how would the cost compare to a conventional chipper? Much cheaper?

Joking, and I appreciate you can't have a final costing at this stage, but could it at least be comparable?

 

Love the concept, but imagine it would be hell on the blades.
