Notice the pattern here you go in too low they say nothing but go in a bit high they are quick to point it out. :sneaky2: You cant do favours in business no point being a busy fool.

I was out giving a quote for a little repolard on one small tree and a ivy removal on another nothing big . As I told her the price she went rather pale so I said what's up

It turned out she paid £ 800 quid to a guy to do the job 2 years ago it took him half a day .

How big was the tree when it was first pollarded 2 years ago? If it was big maybe it was priced reasonably for what had to be done. Two years growth wouldn't leave much for you to do this time round.

£400 is possibly even harder for a couple with kids and struggling to pay a mortgage than it is for an older person, mortgage free with a healthy pension. Not all oldies are hard up. They often play at being hard up, but I'm sure more often they're just tight or frugal!

I'll never get taken in with ANY old lady or any old person unless i know them but i once did.

We did a job two years ago for one for next to nothing (she lived in a normal house)because she said she didn't have much money.Later i was told by a friend that she had more money than most people would ever have. She died last year and she just happened to leave 9+ Million ,you read that right.

There is a moto somewhere but i dont know the words!

Blimey

I'd never thought that could happen but I suppose it could

I had a customer recently who phoned me back and said I had to charge another £300 for doing the work as he thought my quote was a bit low.

This is the flip side

It works the other way too.

On friday I arrived at the job to find it had already been done.Despite the Elderly client accepting the job,one of his sons decided my quote was too high and got someone else in.

He is getting a Bill for wasting my time.
