some pretty intense forces on the dynamic redirects hey ian! I'm with ya on the static redid, way better. and Beeline Blue has gotta be the stand out hitch cord for me these days, cannot fault it.

 

Hey Drew or anyone else using the Beeline Blue. If you're using a sewn or spliced eye & eye then what's a good length for VT under the RW using this 10mm cord on say 11.7mm rope?

 

I've been using a 26" 8mm Bee-line with a 3 wrap 3 braid VT but thinking that 28 or 30" would allow the same VT configuration with the fatter cord.

It doesn't really matter what diameter cord you use. Using a longer cord in the same configuration will still add length. 8mm and 10mm although very close still need adjusting but adjustments will have to be made at the hitch! So try the same wraps but one less braid or visa versa!

 

Not only diameter of cord can affect your configuration different types of cord and certain ropes also need adjusting accordingly.

 

The 2 I find very similar with the same rope in the same configuration are armour prus and beeline.

 

Both are 70cm cord lengths

Thanks Adam. Maybe I'll give the Distel a go too. The main issue I'm having is with the hitch (3x3 VT) becoming too tight after descending so I have to fiddle with the wraps to loosen it up again for optimal ascending/slack tending.

 

Could also try caressing the hitch with my tongue to see if it responds to a good licking

You can try the distel or you can try the Knut that I'm using lol

 

Stick with your VT mate if that's what you get on with, try an extra wrap and one less braid see what happens. Or try the coopers hitch which I'm told is amazing

Hey Adam, really not trying to put a downer on your quest,just a question but do you think there will be much of a call for RW gear with the rope runner due for release soon.

Or will the rope wrench go on strong? Maybe a zk3?
