After the rec climb and watching Ian and Dan on SRT, i am 100% sure i want to go to the darkside.

the minimum i need is the rope wrench and the pantin? And just to double triple check, The tether isnt load bearing so i can use some 6mm accessory cord?

In theory you can foot lock instead of buying a pantin but if you are up against the trunk its going to be death so a pantin is worth the £££?

Elliminate thrusting all together and pantin or footlock all the time?

Please correct me if im wrong anywere please

Super excited about it all.

Rw and pantin are the way to go. You could footlock but i'd advise having the pantin as it makes life easier and as you say, footlocking against the stem would be hell.

The official advice is to use ppe rated tethers, so I would follow that. I use a cut away strop with the lj, other guys use cord with thimbles added in. It's really down to personal preference.

Used mine for the first proper time on Saturday reducing a Conifer. Can definately see the advantages. Took a little while to switch from systems in my head but can see it being a very handy bit of kit.

Any converts from trying out the wrench at the arb show demo's?:sneaky2:

Had a play with the unicender and rw together, makes the uni much smoother in full descent mode, possibly the next step from the lockjack/rw combo?

Yes, it does! If you can devise a stiff tether for joining the two the combo becomes very well-mannered for ascending and the constant transitions of work positioning.

Not a right foot pantin to be had anywhere on Sunday. Was told that the interest in srt has cleared all stock. Arbtalk must be at least partly to blame:thumbup:

meant Saturday at the AA show
