Timberwolf. I hire one quite a lot and it jxust seems a great bit of kit. Used a jenson but that made a mess under the chipper and rollers used to get stuck open.

Tw is compact reliable sturdy and I like the orange colour;)

 

i dissagree timberwolfs have some good bits but to many bits that are poorly designed, simple things they must no are a problem but still havnt sorted. like the shoot, and the timberwolf are far worse for getting the feed rollers stuck.

however they do feel better built (execpt the shoot)

greenmechs are the way forward.

haha thats a good point... and also if the anvil wears on anyother chpper it just shreds abit, but the timberwolf just desides it wants to get every brance stuck on the anvil. the greenmech cm220 i used to use with another company had 4500 hours on it and still runn sweet as a nut.

Most breakdowns or poor performance is due to crap maintenance

The Quadchip imo is simply amazing; brilliant productive and adaptable chipper.

 

But the 19-28 oh my word. For two years running a brand new demonstrator presumably razor sharp has disgraced itself at the show in question. The gap behind the feed rollers jammed within minutes of the demo. The stress control was wholly boredom inducing and the most important factor imo - the sheer chipping productivity is way under par. The very same engine with manual throttle on a.n.other brand machine way outchips it. Bugger the safetrak, the chipping performace is pants. I reckon the quadchip is more productive actually.

What would you put ahead of them then? And why?

 

Well I prefer the heavier american machines. I have a vermeer (my second) and have used various Timberwolfs, greenmechs, farmi, Jensen and a few others and although there is little inherently wrong with Greenmechs, they just dont have the solidity I like of heavier machines.

Like Huck says, what in particular makes you see them as the best?
