What is the difference between a tree surgeon and an arborist...

 

Tree surgeon is a tree climber, pruning, felling, doing the work, arse out of their pants kind of guy...

 

Arborist is more cerebral, diagnosing, reporting, leather patches on the elbows of their jacket kind of guy...

None, apart from America and our Antipodean friends say arborist.

 

'Arboriculturalist' is this the word you are are searching for my friend.

 

I have no answer, I'm afraid, although I understand my pal Hamadryad has leather patches on the arse of his chainsaw trousers, so you would do well to listen to him....
