My mates peugeot expert wont start in the cold, i mean like 2degrees and below, it just cranks over and over and nothing, yet if you wait 30mins for the weather to warm every so slighty it starts on the button.

Between us we have done glow plugs, fuels filters, battery etc alll the obvious things, also checked the timing as the previous owner had cambelt changed, turned out it was a tooth out so thought this was problem solved, but this morning it still wouldnt start :(

Were out of ideas now! Can anybody help :confused1:

hi i once had a problem very much the same and it turned out to be the stop solinoid on the pump, the way to test is very simple remove the wire from the top of the solinoid unscrew the solinoid and remove the plastic plunger replace top and try WONT STOP on the key you will have to stall it good look.

What about a compression test?

Maybe it's a bit low.

easy to test with kit; how does the engine brake going downhill in low gear?

Try changing your fuel filter mate also check the oil in your engine is the correct rating youd be amazed what difference that can make.

Lube viscocity will have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on whether it starts or not.

Good possible scenario...

or even if the fuse and relay are ok for the glow plugs

That was my first thought. New glow plugs is one thing, a correctly functioning pre-heat controller is another...
