very true but do you want to take the chance of 1 little slip that leads to a broken leg or arm and your insurance not paying out cos you were not tied in? I can understand perfectly the logic in the statement but if you were to have a slip then you aint covered matey and you get poor till your leg works again.

Cant say i am innocent and havent done it in the past but the older i get the less risks i tend to take, becoming a bit of a wuss myself

I just dont think its a good idea to tell anyone starting out that its ok to freeclimb, especially in a working environment and even more so if you are working for someone else. The HSE will be down on you like a ton of bricks

Everyone is scared of heights. EVERYONE

People who say they arent are in 3 categories

1) Mentally deficient

2) Liars

3) Havent met the right kind of height yet.

Its a matter of becoming acclimatized, just takes practice and time.

Very true in my opinion.

Very true, in the 60's my dad worked building tower blocks, he would go up with the building and walk around at the top of a very high building with no problem.

Weeks later he would be asked to go back and do some small snagging job on the top of the same tower, when he got to the top he would be terrified!!!

I dont know about you tree boy but ive read through this post and its helped me alot! Im just getting into a bit of practising climbing, not being officially trained but bit of small practise with a mate. I love the rush but at the minute 20 foot is as high as I can get without starting to wobble. Inspirational thread though  unlike most useless threads on this site :001_tt2::laugh1:
