Anyone know of any other makes of long reach hedgecutters that use a star spine shaft? Got a Zenoah LRT2300 which needs a new head but parts are difficult to source for this machine.
The shaft has 7 spines and is 7mm in diameter.

Impulse issue or metering arm height most likely!
Unsurprising you were correct. Sticky/bend metering arm. Changed it for another one I had, adjusted height. Working well now.

The 346 I rebuilt with the snapped cylinder bolt. Just snapped another. Anyone experience this? I am hoping it's just that the cylinder has come loose, rattled about and someone has cranked them right up, causing them the snap. Have bought 4 new bolts, so they should be good.

Just wondering if anything else could have caused this?

Oh damn, will whack myself with a wet halibut 100 times as penance for being a smug sod! Glad it focused your fixing potential:thumbup:

Never snapped one and I do them up pretty tight....actually tighter than tight TBH. I have seen the base snap due to the crankcases being slightly uneven and stripped a thread once but not had too many other issues.

It may just be a dodgy batch of bolts, it does happen in manufacturing.

I got bored so have just ordered one, with the 52mm big bore kit. Where did you order the caber rings from? Might order some genuine circlips for the piston too.

Thanks
