Just put a new fuel line on my oldest work saw today, a 394XP.

Though this saw looks old and thrashed, it still runs nice and crisp with loads of low end torque.

Looks like it needs a clean! Is the brake handle broke or just the camera perspective?

Any ideas on a 43mm tanaka piston.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app

genuine Tanaka parts are very reasonably priced.

Model and ser no needed to identify parts correctly.

Just to lower the tone, I am looking for a clutch cover (the plastic panel bit that holds the chain tensioner has given way) for a McCulloch 335 that I want to get shot of at a boot sale or on Gumtree. Has anyone got one kicking about that they can sell me please? :001_smile:

Did you get her up and running?

For some reason people do seem to be in a habit of installing the gaskets/diapragms in the wrong order on 394's, so if you struggle it may pay to go back in to double check they are installed correctly.

Great saws, ive got a couple and on a full entire rebuild on a 3rd which im taking pics all the way thru etc so will do a thread at some stage in the near future.

I haven't no, only managed to think about doing it as something popped up, but hopefully I'll have a go next week in a evening :001_smile:

I've seen a few running on YouTube, they seem to have loads of torque :001_tongue: can't wait to have her going so I can have a play. Do you run yours on big bars? Say 36"? Does it pull it well?

Yes please. :thumbup1: If it's easier for you, let me know what you want for that side as it comes off when the bar nuts are taken off to save you the hassle of stripping it down. :001_smile:
