Someone my boyfriend knows used to cut tress down with someone so thought he would ask him as he may have needed the money as he is out of work at the moment. We are from pontypool south wales and we don't know any tree surgeons or anyone we asked.

Is he insured? qualifed? what happens if he snaps the phone line running through the tree...you will have to pay for it.

300 is a good quote if you think about what the average tree surgeon needs to pay out - wages, tax, fuel and oil, wear and tear of gear, vehicle insurance, tool insurance, employers liability insurance, public liability insurace...it goes on and on!

If the waste is being left on site..... where ? :confused1:

There'll be a monster pile from that lot and the garden looks small.

Call some tree surgeons from the yellow pages. Ask them to bring proof of qualifications and insurance. See what they quote.

If you want a decent tradesman, phone your local council & ask the tree officer for a nudge in the right direction.

Just make sure you use a profesional team,as if anything goes wrong it could end up very expensive using a non pro.

I would think you might be looking at around £ 450 to get that taken down & removed, but thats a wild guess without seeing the actual tree & site.
