stein 2000 vs treerunner 500

I use a 5T rachet strap on the top eye of the RC2000, through a crab, to crank it nice and tight so it doesn't flop around like a portawrap (which I hate).

Makes it more bollard-like.

Really rate mine, so easy to use.

Can't comment on the Treerunner.

Is that because you cant tie knots?? A simple timber hitch with any old piece of yarn works great. Haha

What do you use as the main anchor for your rc2000?

based around the boston spalding area mate, who did you work for...

did a few of my cs's at riseholme nice place..

where are you now then mate.

why has your friend ordered one from over seas you can buy them over hear buddy.

Me and my mate both live in Sweden, I'm down in the south, Malmö just opposite Denmark. its cheaper to get kit shipped over than to buy it here most of the time.......

I worked for Amber tree care near Gainsborough, Milleneium Tree Care, Marshall Tree Care before Lee packed up and moved away, Enterprise, did some work along side continental landscapes in lincoln city. Yeah Riseholm was a kind of cool, good times had there, i lived on campus for two years whilst doing my ND, I'm definitely more north side of Lincolnshire than your self. DO you know John Dawson? he's from that neck of the woods i think....

i have the tree runner p500 but as for being able to drop big pieces on them, there safe working load limit is no different from a capstan or portawrap its safe working load limit is 500kg but thats still a big lump.....its the stein rc3000 that can take more than the tree runner as you can take the retaining mounts of it and cut the back plate into the tree taking its SWL from 500kg to 3000kg but thats no reason to push your equipment to that extreme...

my opinion is you get what you pay for i bought the tree runner just for trial purpose only just so people can read what i have to say about it and if its good value for money....and yes it is....

i would not bother with the rc2000 or any other capstan/portawrap anymore as the tree runner and in the fuuture the stein rc3001 will be my main use in lowering...there just quick simple and very effective

hope this has help mate....:thumbup:

Rc(2000) = 2000kg WLL, etc.....but obviously your sling attachment is a different matter. Contact Nick Potts @ Fletchers for advice on matching up your rigging components, he'll be delighted to chat about it:biggrin:

Glad your 3001 is working out for you majestic, and thanks for buying British.

also the treerunner has been available for at least the last two years if not longer over here from Skogma, who get all their stuff from Germany, i was put off with the tree runner because a lot of the climbing kit under their name i have found to be over priced and not the best, but then everything in sweden is over priced.....'

what size ropes have you run on the tree runner? like i say i'm tempted by the polydyne 14mm rope, i think that can handle most things I do.

Ha ha.

Can so, I know the granny and the reef now, but I can't get them as tight as I can a 5T ratchet strap!

19mm Yale Whoopie.

@Skyhuck

Majestic obviously has loads of money if he can go and buy a bollard for our benefit. Do you think I should ask him for a grsc so that I can write a review for arbtalkers? Actually, he said he's a really nice guy, maybe he'll get me a better Unimog!

:lol:

if you come down i'll write the cheque out for ya....:thumbup:

i just wanted see if they were any good thats all, most people would not buy anything unless it has great reviews, so i'm just testing the water, for people with a low budget like i had......

@reg

nice to see you back on again mate, hows canada.... i've not yet got the rc3001 but i've fell in love with it and i think its a great bollard, like you say though keeping it british is good....:thumbup:

@dilz
