first rigging kit

i was thinking on the lines of

 

ISC ISC medium cast pulley

 

16 mm 45meter marlow rope

 

2 steel beaners

 

ISC large port a rap

 

2x 4.5 yale multi slings

why 2 multi slings the same size

 

personally I do not like the marlow ropes

same diametrw yale are lighter stronger and more supple although more expensive.

Dead eye slings are cheaper, I have one on my portawrap since you only have to tie it once per tree, and I prefer them for attaching the block too.

A light Alloy Pulley will get alot more use than a Cast one.Might be worth getting one of those as well.

 

Buy some Webbing like Rock Climbers use and make up a few Slings of various lengthss.They will come in handy with the Pulleys.

personally i would look at buying a Stein rigging kit . that way you have an opperational kit. then if you like you can build on that basic kit as much as you like . and all of the components are rated to be used as a kit .

if you want your gloves to last more than 3 drops then use some yale rope, i find th marlows are just way too rough after thy start to get fluffy, i use a 13mm yale portland braid, very nice rope to use and doesnt want to take your gloves off!

where are the stein rigging kits available from? I'm putting together a fairly complete kit at the momment so this thread is of interest. the short cords are to be spliced into dead eye slings,

 

60 mete yale polydyne 14mm

3m whoopie sling 16 mm

ISC medium block + 4m split tail 16mm

Stein RC1000

2 X 80cm slings

1 X 60cm sling

1 X 120cm sling

8m polydyne 16 mm

6m polydyne 12 mm

ISC light weight pulley 70kn

2 x steel krabs

and great big expensive bag to put it all in....
