The first demo still did of knocking a top out with the 201t he couldn't get the saw to stay running. That was pretty funny.

 

Spud: I see where your coming from, but looking at the stein 300 lowering bollard, it's a plate with a bollard in the centre, much like mine, I understand there are probably many more design differences but that's essentially it. It's not a Hobbs or grcs and I don't expect it to be! For what it cost I expect to get it's money's worth out of it.

 

It straps on the top and bottom of the plate, I can't see how that's a bad design?

 

Steve: it does seem a bit long! Nothing a grinder and a good weld wouldn't fix!

Who were the 'PROFFESIONALS' carrying out the demonstration dismantle from a cherry picker.

They cut through the rope with the chainsaw. And if they had not, the branch would have had such a big swing that it would have probably hit the groundsman controling the lowering rope.

On the plus side the demonstration at the stihl area was good, tha man was able to discribe both sides of the debate very well.

The sausages were good, but not worth the wait.

Now all i have got to do is wait for my new harness to arrive, one of the new fangled Hakkie ones.

Had a good day, got some bits of kit and looked at soime bigger bits of kit!!!! got some stuff off Justin only let down was expensive crap food and beer.

had a good chat with him about SRT too and now eyeing up wether I can afford/worth it getting an SRT kit, just dont have that many big trees in Cornwall!

 

I think he must have done a fair few ascents over the two days with all the demo's and then helping people to have ago but fair play, he seemed more than happy to do it.

 

Only got APF and Cutters and Climbers earlier this year to compare too, not as busy or manic as APF and smaller than cutters and climbers but still had a good day and I'll go again next year, hopefully with a bit more wedge for shiny things!
