I seem to remember it blew a bit more (Feb '88)? We were encamped near to an elec sub-station and the one day the wind took out some of the teetering remnants inc a beech which flattened the sub-station and workers van!

My old man god rest him, was working down there for 3 months putting the lines back up he was a linesman for Scottish Power they worked out of Tronbridge some hotel, they had gangs of tree workers with them everyday would be interesting to look out the photos and see if anyone on here worked with them when they where there.

I missed what was going on on the ground as I was flying through it instead. More than usual vommy bags were used on that flight!

 

It was very odd coming back a couple of weeks later to a landscape that had dramatically altered. Not that I was hugely interested in trees in my tender school years :001_tongue:

we heard it was a bit windy down with you guys 1 day:001_rolleyes:, all i remember about it was the guy from Alo Alo got badly injured when a tree crushed his car:thumbdown:

 

ha ha oh yeh i remember that then he had a big scar on his head after that.i remember my dog running outside for a pee lifting his leg and got blown over:lol:
