I had a few Bantams over the early years, brilliant little bikes, so simple to maintain, never gonna break any speed records but always got me home.

even tuned one to get a little more "performance" Todd 160 barrel and piston, Alpha crank, wal phillips fuel injection, expansion box, clip ons, etc.

looked and sounded the part but wasn't really gonna set the road alight.

then found that with a little backyard ingenuity it was possible to shoehorn a 250 Villiers twin into it,, now that did liven it up considerably.

A D1, just a bit older than I, was mine. First on the road Enfield 250, then a mistaken upgrade to AJS 600, luckily stolen  then Bantam d14/4 for my commute to my first forestry job.

Dayton Albatross. My brother got that Villiers engine from said scooter, and nearly got it fitted into something I forget what.

Mine had elements of a 14/4, but it didn't start life as that. It was somewhat of a Frankenstein, I seem to remember.

I never said that your Trakmet was a hobby mill, I said you was a hobby miller.

Amongst other bikes I have fond memories of owning a YZ125. It was a water cooled bike back in the late 80's.It did get me into a bit of trouble though!

I looked to buy one a few years ago and there where a few about but at some ridiculous prices! 

 

Aye one still own a motocrosser? Or should I say a scrambler.
