Don’t Drop it, Phat Strop it!

not wanting to pee on anyones parade but.... i'd be a little concerned about the use of bungee material as opposed to a static strop. the idea of a razor sharp silky pinging back across my ropes or hands or any other part of my body doesnt fill me with confidence. can you ease my concerns?

 

I kind of echo that. My view on this is what if your reaching out to a branch tip to cut it and because your stretching you'll stretch the bungee, if you let go, sharp thing comes to pay a visit. Is this an issue anywhere?

Could you use it to secure your Helmet?Mines always falling off and the Straps underneath it arn't long enough to reach my Harness.

i would think it would end up coming out of the sheath more often with the strop because it provides something to get snagged on twigs etc.. no bungee strop, less to get caught..

Will they work with my fig biscuits?( I can easily make a hole to insall it) I hate dropping them down the back of the sofa. The fluff detracts from the taste sensation.

Is there anything more frustrating than grabbing for your trusted handsaw only to find it has come loose from the sheath and fallen to the floor?

The Phat Strop comes complete with a heavy duty lanyard, carabiner and unique cord loop, which can be thread through the eye of the tool or secured firmly around the tool handle. The lanyard extends from 1-1.4 metres so you can conveniently reach branches yet it also recoils close to the sheath meaning you avoid getting caught whilst climbing.

Exactly what I have done already. One neodymium magnet and the jobs a good'un. May need two for anything bigger than a 270mm gomtaro. Maybe a stronger magnet like the 4/5mm thick ones:) Holds it in the sheath even when upside down..
