Although there is much time left to serve, Tom (our apprentice) has completed his apprenticeship with college and ourselves.

Still staying with us for a few more months to help fill a void.

But will then be let loose to ply his skills.

Last friday he passed both Cs38 & 39

It all started when he came to us for a two week work placement whilst still at school.

Enough enthusiasm & desire was shown for me to consider him as an apprentice.

His college placement has been with the Trees & Timber apprenticeship at Capel Manor, which finished last Autumn.

Following are some shots to show the journey..........

First few are from his placement a couple of years ago.

The pictures tell a great story about a lad getting a great start in arboriculture. He has obviously had a really varied apprenticeship and some top-notch mentoring from our very own Monkey-D.

i met Tom last week for the first time, and from the short time that i spent with him he came across as a very promising young arborist.

Excellent attitude and ability to communicate, also an efficient young climber.

Good luck for the future Tom!

Lucky Tom! wish I had a start like that. Had dirt sweat and twigs in my eyes doing this job for the last 20 years and never the chance to some of those things.

Looks like you got a good reference too

He will go far
