... In that I make tea for workmen??? :confused1:

We've got a lot of highways work taking place outside and in the general area at the moment, and they frequently do 10 hours plus a day.

I can - just about! - remember back to doing street tree work and I know how much a cuppa is appreciated, so I'm quite happy to make a few teas or coffees for them if I'm in. It only takes a couple of minutes and costs a couple of pence, so why doesn't anyone else bother? I was chatting to one bloke and he said that in 12 weeks, only one other person had made them drinks. Am I the only one who does this? I can't be, surely? Or am I just wierd?

We had a massive day on once, we was gasping, had done all our fluids that day, we plucked up the courage to knock on and ask, the client said she had better things to do with her time thsan make us a cup of tea!

we also had to park on the street and drag an extra 50 yds because she didnt want our big ugly trucks on the drive!

mental.

Thats the first thing I ask people that work at mine!! Its one of my pet hates. I've had people come outside when we've been working with a glass of cold drink with ice in it and they've just stood in front of us while we're covered in sawdust and sweat and not offered anything!! Another guy that worked for a big bank in a fairly high up position had us work for him for about 6 months in total and never offered a single drink. Doesn't matter, you're still getting paid at the end of the day, but I find it a bit rude personally.
