I have had calls from same company, last time they rang me end of last year I took the whistle off the back of my harness and gave it a good hard blow right next to the phone and funny enough they hung up

Just wanner say thanks to Billy for posting this in the first place and to Steve for having this site

 

They just tried to ring up and sell me the same stuff. Said they were from the local force working with the LA. Where they got caught out

 

1.Someone from Lincolnshire police I would assume would have a native accent not a bloody souse one ( I can’t really say anything im a scouser living in Lincolnshire)

 

2.Using a non local number such as 01400/01476 but using the area code for Liverpool

 

3.Getting my address wrong when the LA have my actual address and not my company address The client and every one else gets the yards address and only the LA get my home address

 

4. It gets better he then calls me on his mobile without trying to hide his number to get me to do a deal.

 

if any one would like to see the number they call me on send me a message and ill pop em over

I just had them phone me up today!!!!! They've changed the tack a bit no tho its now a diary that you can be in. I just said i was already police approved with no convictions and they said ok and ended the call. Cheers for the post Billy!

Rang me last week.

 

Said they were 'with' Kent Police, 'but there's no need to worry'.

 

I said I wasn't worried.

 

Then said I had more work than I could handle and couldn't possibly cope with any more.

 

End of conversation.

Just ask for their registered charity number - they usually hang up at that point if they are con-artists.

Thats weird it must be the time of year since my friend in the plumbing business has been receiving the same types of phone call regarding ads run in Yellow Pages Direct?. Of course he never subscribed to such a service but they are convinced that he had and he owes them $$$ when he asked how much and from when to when, they just hung up. Working both sides of the pond these days at once.

I don't think it's a scam. They let me add my business onto the 999 number.

 

I'm just waiting for my first call now to do with trees.
