I've run 3 makitas two dcs430's and a dcs9010. The dcs430's are 43cc. Fairly lightweight and do a good job. They are cheap but robust even though a fair bit of plastic.

i got a husky 339xp great wee saw if u can find one not cheap but should last a while

Just got a Sthil ms230 crank shaft bearing in alley not plastic it the 1 with out primer & decompresion button was told it was the 45cc same as ms250 but runs a 3/8picco not

.325 cut like hell. £310.00?

If you are considering Husky go for the 435 as it is lighter than the 236 and more powerful and clutch etc is much better quality

bought the makita dcs430 and bought a ms170 for the chipper but only used them about 20 times as i trim up befor taking stuff to the chipper

Efco MT3500 in my opinion - I brought one in April last year to replace a MS171, and really can't fault it for the price. Much better than the Stihl, and oils like a champ.

 

Only downside is air filter is a bit of a pain to access, but that's the only bad thing I have to say about it.

yh the little stihls never seem to use as much oild compared to all other saws

Chipper saw is a chipper saw as long as its sharp and starts ! If every body else knows what they are doing it should be ready to go through before it gets there!

i have a efco lawnmower, it's great as well.

as for makita, i have a long reach, with pruner, strimmer, hedge trimmer that's fully adjustable, £500, i wouldn't call cheap and it's top draw, never fails to start and build is A1,i don't understand why people have a downer on em.

i wish Kawasaki did chainsaws because their trimmers are great, i have one as well.
