ive thought about taking wheels off but 1st time they go in an see no wheels second time they mite come back with wheels "doesnt take much 2 get crappy wheels on it" ive seen those battery powered alarms thought about that too just think they wouldnt be right loud???i can back the van up to the front of garage door. its the back thats the problem though because its that sectional concrete crap its only got 3 bolts in each section thats why i was going to put bollards behind it too...how much are those trackers??

you'd just need to make sure you leave something that they trip when they enter to let you know someones visited...shouldnt be hard

It's worth getting a tracker and using stuff that shows up under UV to mark it somewhere out of site. I had a big bit of RSJ that padlocked onto the floor and on that was wealded a ball hitch which the chipper was locked onto. Also had some heavy guage lifting chain (that was very difficult to cut with a angle grinder) chaining it to the walls of a shipping container.

The best bet Is to do as much as possible just to slow them down, I know from experience that its a pain to lock and unlock but its still quicker than earning the money to replace a chipper thats gone walkies. If they really want it they'll follow you to a job and nick it when you yurn your back for 2 minutes.

If you think about how much they'll get for the right machine then they can afford to follow you for weeks and still be in pocket.
