Ladder or not?

currently suffering sciatica i foolishly topped large leylandii today off a 30ft ladder rather than climbing and subsequently slashed my thumb with the ms200,say no more,ladders suck

Thats my reasoning when it comes to MEWP's

Ladders all the way.... I dont often use them (probably like the majority?), but if they make the job easier why not????

 

Ladders get a bad rap cause of homeowners and over-zealous gardeners falling off them after cutting through the branch there leaning on 40ft up...

 

If you cant use your judgement to realise situations when a ladder compromises safety then stay clear of them.

There are situations where ladders save the day. Handy for some jobs, but not all, experience and common sense, the job location will speak for it`s self

How do you get on roofs? A tree surgeon w/o a ladder is a tree surgeon missing a good piece of gear.

I use one for access. I have a 24' extention ladder on the top of my forestry truck, and a lighter 16' ladder also. We almost always blow off the roof after the tree job and the ladder gets used for that also.

I have been keeping a 10' orchard on my truck. I have a 16' orchard that is priceless for reaching the first limbs on some trees.
