Kinda why I was asked, as that's gotta add a huge amount of numbers & money across the whole of Scotland.

That and wanting to ban lead, they gave airguns a pass for now.

As those promethium pellets were a bloody liability, let's litter the fields with plastic in the name of the environment.

Where has the £400 figure come from? Don’t think the new prices are unreasonable myself.

That’s a brutal increase, end of day Labour hate private firearms ownership 🤷‍♂️” full cost recovery “ Shame that mantra isn’t applying to a lot of other things.

Aye but it’s still half of what was predicted .. it’s not £400 !! I have fac and shot gun certs , I don’t think it’s unfair that we pay the cost or some where near what it actually costs to process them , and if actually means we get shorter processing times I’m all up for it.

I'll kick you in the bollocks four times. Then you'll be glad when it's only twice.

It's a disgrace. I've already paid for a law that tells me I can't have something unless I bow and scrape. Why should I then have to pay for the paperwork on top of the bowing and scraping?

Quite simply they've increased the prices, yet will no doubt be increasing them again.

Plus the 100 or more no doubt for the GP letter.

@AHPP shotguns and rifle are very different things.

Shotgun is effectively meet the criteria of not being a nutter and security, rifle is also prove necessity with a whole host of other background checks that are on a par with security service clearances, that's a simplified explanation tho.

I do see that side of it but we already pay tax and council tax which is supposed to go to covering some of that and as has been said I think it’s only ever gonna be bumped up year after year.

It’s too much now, let alone increasing it.

What did I get for my last renewal in November? For £200 including doctors letter.

A 5 minute telephone interview with an idiotic policeman who mainly asked me questions he already knew the answers to, because nothing had changed and if it had I would have been legally bound to tell them. Cabinet, guns, security etc.

Then started waffling about ‘convictions I hadn’t told them about’.

Turns out they were a couple of incidents I was questioned about over 20 years ago, but being innocent I was never even charged, let alone convicted.

I’ve held a shotgun certificate for over 35 years!

Told him to get his facts straight next time.

Where is my money going?

I’m tempted to say my guns have been nicked and just keep them illegally next time round.

Labour won’t be in power then though.
