Tipper probs.

So how do I restrict the dump ports?

It cant be the ram Mr Scale, its only a single action. Fluid goes in the same port as it exits,

For what its worth, one of my old trucks had a tipmaster body on, and that always came down fast, even faster with a load on. So far, ingimex I used tomhave and vfs tippers I now have come down nice and slow regardless. It could be you have a set up that wont allow slow downwards tip

High Scale, My tipper setup looks more or less identical to yours. I have used several tippers over the years and have noticed that some come down alarmingly fast and will no doubt over time fracture the tipper chassis.

 

To counteract this I fork as much chip as I can to the tail board of the tub. Mine too is a single acting ram with that 'scissor type' mechanism which I dislike alot.

It's only rated to 15000kg and it really struggles to elevate and sometimes it won't go up atall atall. I get someone to operate the tipper switch and me and my groundie stand either side of the tub and physically assist it to go up, failing that I hafta fork off some chip then try again.

 

I am considering having the ram and mechanism removed and replaced by a beefy 3 or 4 stage ram that will push up any weight without a struggle.

 

Like I say not all tippers slam back down and some are more forgiving than udders. Has your tipper always done this since you have owned it as it may not be possible to 'remedy the problem' ??

Can't a one way restrictor be fitted on the feed hose to the ram..?

the scattolini tippers used by vfsmhave a multi stage ram. My three way has one fitted. The power on the first section tip is around 5 tonnes they told me!

Or a hose burst valve with a small hole in the flat face, about 10 quid from flowfit.
