Climbed today, but couldn't get the truck and chipper onto site because of an icy hill! Had to drop all the gear off, leave the rig at my mates garage and walk back through town with the dogs on old climbing ropes!

Did alright, considering, everything is ok apart from my hands. They have crap circulation, and with chunkier gloves on I have to grip harder, which kills my forearms. Still had to come down more than I wanted to because my fingers were icing up.

I'm going to buy some heated mitts to take up with me. I won't be able to work in them, but I'll try clipping them onto my harness and shoving my hands in them whenever they get too cold.

Got to try something. Prefer ground work and logging in the snow, but it doesn't always work out like that.

Time for loads of brews and a scorching bath!

felling and climbing today, feet started getting cold about 1pm so had enough, i could of done a bit more but i would of been committed for atleast 2 hours and didnt have time or the notion. Rope froze like Mike mentioned today so that made me think about what he said about the prussik not gripping, made me a bit edgy to say the least, found out that chestnut is a lot more forgiving in the cold, thankfully

Iknow its probably not to good for you but i have bad hand circulation too so when hands start to get unusable up a tree i just heat them on the exhaust of the o20 while revving her for a few seconds and they are nice and cosy for a while longer
