The world of arb forums is very small (much like the industry)

A lot of the guys on here frequent other sites, many of the comments are motivated by a history of other posts on other sites.

Skilled professionals do not like the advocating of bad and unsafe practice, that could lead the inexperienced into very dangerous territory. And when the advocate of these techniques dismisses the advice (put forward kindly at first) of those who have the very greatest experience and skill within the industry, in a disrespectfully manner. People loose all respect for the poster and negative posts follow.

I often dislike posts which typically would start "I agree with Nick" but here goes: Skyhuck really sums it up. I personally don't like to view trees being felled from 12ft. up. No need for it full stop. Don't try this at home.

Exactly my thoughts....

Some people are very thick skinned and cannot take a hint.

Various forums have tried to drop hints, then directly pointed out, but yet the dodgey vids still continue from one forum to another.

I dont advocate insulting a person but I do advocate ripping to pieces videos that are put forward as a way of dealing with things when clearly they are down right dangerous

I'm sure you have a point but having no knowledge of history on other sites the comments seemed intensely prejudiced to the guy, which I found unusual for arbtalk. Thanks for the insight skyhuck.

At least there is a reason behind that behaviour.

thats more like it lendahand!

This is a point on which we disagree..

MY opinion: People think the techniques demonstrated are unsafe, risky, lucky etc.. because it is either over their heads (beyond their set of experieinces), or they misinterpret the videos and the explanations as they never give the full story. there is just far too much going on to explain and show it all on a shoe-string budget.

I AM also glad to get the confirmation that prejudices from other American sites has bled throuhg to the conversations here. I have tried to be polite here, and not met met with the same by many. Glad there are a few here who take objection to this treatment and would like to carry on a respectful dialogue.

Its this kind of arrogant attitude thats got peoples back up in the first place! From my perspective you are unable to take peoples constructive criticism on board and ignore many other peoples own views on your "techniques" which seems kinda hipocratic?!
