Yes, it always makes me laugh when people speak about "solar power", virtually ALL out power is solar, we have very little else.

 

I heard some interesting stuff on radio4 about oil and coal, they think that the various organisms that decompose timber and other organic mater had not evolved when most of the fossil fuel was laid down. Which explains why it was able to be compressed into fuel and not just decompose.
